Opened in 1999 the Arts Centre has established itself as a first class arts teaching and learning institution in the city. The Arts faculty covers the full range of visual, fashion, media, multimedia, photography, journalism and performing arts courses. This building also houses courses for 16-18 year olds in business and health and care. It also runs courses for students with learning difficulties and disabilities. More than 2,000 learners study at this centre.
The centre also boasts academy status for both media and technical theatre and live music as well as being a founder college for the creative and cultural Industries and a lead provider for fashion.
The arts faculty has very strong links with both industry and local communities and runs a unique project for disengaged 14-18 year olds studying media related specialisms.

- Deaf of hearing impairment
