The Arts Centre

Opened in 1999 the centre has established itself as one of the premier arts teaching and learning
institutions on Merseyside. The centre includes specialist arts and technical facilities, recording studios,
premier dance and drama facilities as well as top of the range media, photography, fashion and multimedia
studios. More than 2,000 learners study at the Arts Centre. The Arts Faculty covers the full range of visual,
fashion, media, multimedia, photography, journalism and performing arts courses. This building also houses
courses for 16-18 year olds in Business, Health & Care and courses for students with learning difficulties
and disabilities.
The centre also boasts Academy status for both Media and Technical Theatre and live Music as well as being
a Founder college for the Creative and Cultural Industries and a Lead Provider for Fashion.
The arts faculty has very strong links with both industry and local communities and runs a unique project
for disengaged 14-18 year olds with Toxteth TV.
