Developing a 'green' college

YOE.jpg

At Liverpool Community College we understand that we can play an important role in developing society to be able to respond to these challenges and assist local communities to continue to flourish. We want to create an environment in which staff and students feel empowered to take actions that support sustainable development.

Whilst leadership from the top on these issues is essential, we understand that the drive for change towards sustainable development can happen at all levels within an organisation, with individuals, groups or departments taking responsibility to make their own practice more sustainable.

The same values evident in the college’s mission statement, such as equality, fairness, caring for people and caring for the environment, overlap with the values that underpin sustainable development. Working together with other stakeholders in the city will provide a framework for our organisation for sustainable development which can be used to reinvigorate the aims and objectives of the college.
