Engineering Electronic or Mechanical/Manufacture Level

3 90 Credit Diploma

This course is aimed primarily at those working in the industry or looking for a career change. BTEC Diplomas (formerly the BTEC National Certificate) are vocational courses involving practical and theory based work. You will learn by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands. As well as learning about the employment area you are interested in, you will develop the skills you need to start and/or further develop your education and career.

Core units you may study include - Business Systems, Maths for Technicians, Communications, Project, Electronic/Electrical Principles, and/or Mechanical Principles.

Specialist units you may study for Electrical/Electronic include - Analogue Electronics, Digital Electronics, Electronic Fault Finding, Electrical Technology, Electronic Circuit Manufacture, Further Electrical Principles, etc.

Specialist units you may study for Mechanical/Manufacturing include - Computer Aided Design, Fabrication, Welding, Electrical Technology, Electronic Circuit Manufacture, Materials, Design, etc.

Employment, and/or further development of existing career opportunities in various engineering sectors. Progression to Higher Education courses for example the HNC, and other further vocational training in a wide range of engineering courses. Please note that for those considering university courses in the future after progressing from the Level 3 Diploma, you may need GCSE Maths and/or English, Science at C or above, and an additional Maths L3 qualification. You must check this with universities you may wish to apply to for further details.
