Barbering Level 3 VRQ Diploma

We are now offering an exciting opportunity to do a VRQ Level 3 qualification in Barbering. You will cover a number of units, covering a number of styles and techniques such as: monitor and maintain health and safety, consultation, cut men's hair to create a variety of looks, cut facial hair to create a variety of looks, creative hairdressing design skills, provide shaving and face massage.

There are a number of optional units, such as: human resources management within the hair and beauty sector, design and create patterns in hair, provide scalp massage services.

The Barbering Level 3 Diploma is aimed at people who would like to pursue a career within this fast growing industry, or for those already working in industry that would like to further develop their skills. A variety of teaching methods are used to include practical workshops, working in commercial salon and theory. There is a strong emphasis on developing employability skills throughout the programme of study to include community work and work experience placement.

This course is Advanced Learner Loan eligible, which can fully cover the course fee. The fee for this course is £3,345 for the academic year 15/16.

  • Practical activities that help your personal development including study skills, enrichment activities, employability training and classes in personal and social skills to get you ready for further education or employment.
  • Support to enable you to progress to the next level of study or employment

English and Maths

English and Maths skills are vital for employment and to secure a place on courses at a higher level, including university.

We have a team of tutors who will work with you to achieve these essential qualifications and enable you to apply these skills in your day to day activities and work.

Since September 2013 any young person who does not achieve their GCSE in English language and mathematics at grade C or above will have to continue their studies at college. Students who have a grade D in either subject must study these subjects at GCSE level.
