Job description:

We have an opportunity for the right candidate to develop their administration skills working for Bellerive FCJ Catholic College in Aigburth, Liverpool. The role involves supporting the office manager undertaking a variety of administrative tasks. An interest in a career in education would be an advantage. 

The main duties include:

  • Answering the telephones and taking clear and concise messages and acting upon them when required.
  • Sending clear, well written correspondence via emails and managing and replying to incoming emails.
  • Composing and replying to letters with supervision from the Manager.
  • Updating and entering data onto the IT systems. (Full training will be given)
  • Arranging and scheduling meetings for the school and Sixth Form, making sure rooms are booked to accommodate them.
  • Communicating effectively with all members of the organisation and gain a clear understanding and follow the confidentiality guidelines.
  • Photocopying and scanning documents as required.
  • Filing of personal documentation and ensure all files are up to date and meet the required standards.
  • To attend organization/team meetings and contribute where needed.
  • Meeting and greeting pupils to the school and Sixth Form.
  • Meeting and greeting visitors to the school and Sixth Form.
  • Undertake a range of administration and transactional administration tasks to support the delivery all school services.
  • To work towards the objectives agreed in own performance and development reviews.

Qualifications Required:

  • GCSE’s grades A-C or 4-9 in English and Maths are essential plus an IT qualification


Skills Required:

The successful candidate must have/be:

  • PC Literate
  • Some previous work experience would be a plus although not essential
  • IT Proficient
  • Excellent customer service skills


Training to be Provided:

Business Administration Level 2 apprenticeship.


Working Week:

Monday - Thursday

8:30am – 4:30pm


8:30am – 4pm

Time will be given for off-the-job training for the Business Administration course  


Expected Duration: 

12 - 15 months


Future Prospects:

Possible permanent position within the company


Important Information:

The position is term time only and your wage will be prorated over a 12 month schedule
