The City of Liverpool College is a leading Liverpool provider for vocational catering courses, with our teaching and training held as among the most established in the city.

All our courses are delivered in a professional environment based in and around our fully resourced Duke Street campus, with kitchens, bakeries and student-led cafés.

Our Catering Department has an excellent reputation with employers around the city due to our focused teachers, dedicated learners and ambitious apprentices.

  • Our learners have catered for commercial services, award ceremonies and a variety of corporate events from local festivals to national conferences, giving them diverse and exciting opportunities.

Aside from this, many gain experience working in our own restaurant and food outlets such as the city centre based Academy Restaurant and Bread & More, located in the iconic St Georges Hall. These opportunities ensure our students gain the practical hands-on skills that boosts CVs and gives students a chance to interact with people already in the industry.

Experiences like no other

As part of our study programme, students gain their experience through unique opportunities secured by the college. In 2015, hospitality, catering, bakery and events management students lead and delivered a full pop-up restaurant at the stunning Cunard Building, during the historical Three Queens event. The College worked closely with Cunard, Liverpool City Council and stakeholders across the city, giving our students unique opportunities to enhance their employability and experience. Our Catering and Hospitality Academy also stole the show this year at the Liverpool Food and Drink Festival with another outstanding, fine-dining pop-up restaurant collaboration with The Art School. Working closely with award winning chef Paul Askew, the College wowed visitors to the Liverpool Food and Drink Festival with a unique fine dining experience in a pop-up version of the Art School Restaurant. For the full story read the Echo story here.
