Basic Skills

These courses offer you the chance to improve your Maths or English, learn basic computer skills and gain a nationally recognised qualification. They can support your work prospects or help you to prepare for further study.

Learn at your own pace in one of our Drop in Study Centres (DISC) located in your area or at one of the main college sites. An individual learning plan is negotiated with you to achieve your aims. You will have a chance to use computers and you can also join a variety of short courses throughout the year. You can normally negotiate a timetable to suit you. Skills will be assessed at the start so you can concentrate on the areas you need to develop.
