Liverpool Community College offers a wide range of Higher Education courses.
The programmes have been designed in consultation with employers to produce graduates with the knowledge and higher
level skills needed in industry. Qualifications include Higher National Certificate (4 subjects), Foundation Degree
(9 subjects) and a BA (Hons) Social Work (full and –part time routes)
Qualifications under the National Qualifications Framework
Higher National Certificate (HNC) - level 4 (usually 1 year full time or 2 years part time)
Foundation Degree (FdA or FdSc) – level 5 (usually 2 years full time or 3 years part time)
Bachelor of Arts with Honours (BA (Hons) )– Level 6 (usually 3 years full time or 4 years part time)
Liverpool Community College works in partnership with the universities who award the degree qualifications and with
Edexcel for HNCs. Our University Partners are Liverpool John Moores University, De Montfort University, Edge Hill University,
Manchester Metropolitan University and Liverpool Hope University.
Subject to places being available, Higher Education subjects taking students in 2010 include:
Social Work, Teaching, Early Years, Leisure and Tourism, Leisure and Hospitality, Building Services Engineering,
Construction, Fashion and Clothing Technology, Popular Music, Music and Audio Production, IT, Digital Media Design,
Performing Arts (Dance) and Performing Arts (Performance)
