If you are a student from an EU country there are no restrictions on the Further Education courses you may study. If you are an EU national and have been ordinarily resident in the UK/EU for 3 years before the start of your course, you are eligible for 'home student' fees and you may follow either the online or paper application procedures.

If you are coming to the UK on a student visa (Tier 4), you must study full time (at least 15 hours a week) at NQF level 3 or above. Overseas students must not apply online and should make a request for an overseas student application pack instead.

Please remember that our course application process begins in November for the following September so you must apply early as many of our course(s) are very popular.

Level 3 Extended National Diplomas

Extended national diplomas are mainly awarded by BTEC and are equivalent to 3 ‘A’ levels.  They carry UCAS points and generally lead to university and other L4 progression routes. They are between 15 – 18 hours a study a week over two years though some are up to 21 hours a week.

Level 3 Access to HE Courses

Access courses are generally for mature students who have not gained ‘A’ levels but wish to progress to university.  Studies are 15+ hours a week and cover study skills and academic writing in addition to the core subjects.  The Access programme is nationally recognised but associated with the local universities to which its students usually progress.

Foundation degrees

Foundation degrees are two year courses which the College runs in partnership with local universities.  Successful students are able to progress and complete a 3rd year at university for an Honours Degree.  Please note you must also apply through UCAS for a FD course.
