Vacancy Description:

This is an excellent opportunity for young person who is looking for a career in website management and design.

As our website content apprentice you will be responsible for the information that appears on our company website and the sales of our online products.  

You will need lots of creative ideas and the ability to work to deadlines. 

General maintenance of the company website to include:

  • Uploading text, photographs and other information on our website.

  • Taking orders through the site

  • Processing orders for postage

  • Creating content for customers

  • Changing and updating prices

  • Responding to customer enquires

  • Updating the website with new stock

  • Answering the phone and other office duties as required.

Skills Required:

To be a web content manager you should have:

  • Good organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines
  • The ability to build relationships with clients and partners
  • An understanding of online writing issues, such as house style and content structure
  • An excellent grasp of English grammar, punctuation and spelling
  • The ability to write for a target audience
  • Creative skills to find interesting ways to present information and to generate new ideas
  • Attention to detail, for example when proofreading
  • The ability to give and receive constructive feedback on work.


Personal Qualities required:

  • confident presentation skills good
  • teamworking skills
  • Positive approach to work
  • An interest in websites and their operation


Qualifications Required:

English and maths at GCSE would be preferred

An IT qualification would also be desirable


Training to be provided:

The Creative and Digital apprenticeship programme involves attending College premises for (term-time) weekly half-day tutorial sessions to gain the Level 3 Certificate in Creative and Digital Media (21 credits) and also to underpin the Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Creative & Digital Media which will be assessed via workplace study and assessment over the duration of the apprenticeship programme.


Expected Duration:

18 Months


Working Week:

Monday to Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm 

You will attend college one day per week at The City of Liverpool College.


Future Prospects:

A full time position is available for the right candidate.


Other Important Information:

Training on the Apprenticeships Programme for 16 to 18 year olds is a priority and fully-funded by the Government for non-levy paying employers. Training for Apprenticeships for those over this age is part funded, with employers expected to make a part or full contribution.
