Brickwork Level 1

Diploma

The level 1 programme is a great way to start your career. It enables you to develop the skills and confidence to progress in college and into work. You will develop a wide range of skills in your chosen subject area as well as gaining qualifications in English, maths and ICT. You will be assessed for your English and maths and work at the level that’s right for you.

Working with the harder materials, such as brick and stone, can be very creative and means that work which is created will be admired for years to come. Bricklayers also use a variety of specialist tools to spread and joint mortar and cut bricks or blocks to size. As a bricklayer you'll need a good head for heights and be happy to work outdoors. Bricklaying can also be quite physical, so good fitness is important. You'll also need to be precise, accurate and be able to follow instructions.
