Mathematics and Physics,

BSc (Hons)

This programme has been designed to offer a combined approach to these two related disciplines, particularly aimed at people wishing to become educators in these two areas and both have been identified as being in demand within the UK primary, secondary and further education sector. It is a demanding and academically rigorous course. The BSc (Hons) Physics and Mathematics programme will deliver a broadly based core encompassing key physics and mathematical ideas. The programme aims to develop in students an understanding of the complexity and diversity of life through study of the physical and mathematical world in addition to an understanding of the hypothesis-driven scientific process. The programme provides opportunities for students to develop generic skills necessary for employment, such as practical and analytical skills, project management and use of technology and communication media.

- Demonstrate self-management, self-promotion and interpersonal skills necessary for successful employment and self-employment in a range of professions
