Pre-Access: Health

Studies

The Pre Access Health Studies programme is for students wishing to progress to the Level 3 Access Health and Social Care or Allied Health Professions. Students on the Pre Access Health Studies programme, will typically study the following subjects:

• Human Physiology for Health Care

• Psychology and/or Sociology

• Health Studies and/or Counselling theory

In addition this this, you will study a GCSE English, Maths and/or a Science subject, dependent on the qualifications you already have. For students hoping to progress to university courses such as Midwifery, Nursing or Physiotherapy, we strongly advise you study a GCSE in Human Biology as well. This will be discussed with you at interview and enrolment, to ensure you are signposted to the correct combination of GCSEs dependent on your progression destination.
