Evening Level 1

Description

The course is a practical programme of study for Level 1 which is delivered for 10 weeks – 2 hours per weekly session.

The 10 week programme of study covers elements:

• Compact and SLR cameras

• I.S.O

• Shutter Application

• Aperture Application

• Composition

• Introduction to the Mac environment

• Introduction to Photoshop

• Final Major Project

The delivery of the programme is through: Practical demonstrations, Mini tasks, Presentations, Investigation Studies, Group critiques and the Submission of a Final Major Project.

You will also be expected to work independently and engage in group tasks within realistic time constraints in order to develop your skills. You will also benefit from working in well equipped specialist facilities: Specialist Computer Digital Suite.

The course programme is coordinated to ensure quality application in teaching and learning and promotes equality and diversity.

The programme consists of a research file that evidences mini tasks and group workshops throughout the 10 week programme and 1 Final Major Assignment Project for study and completion.

Students will be required to purchase and provide programme course materials for their study, progression and assessment to include: - practical development, final prints, portfolio presentation – all requested support materials and research files.

Students must have access to a digital camera [basic or advanced model]

If you do not have access to a digital camera and intend to buy one for the course of study, please delay purchase until session one and the programme tutor will advise you on a suitable purchase.

The department will also supply dSLR cameras within the scheduled workshop sessions to enable student learning, support and progression whilst enrolled on the course.

Please note: This is an extremely popular course and early application is recommended as numbers are limited.  Once the limit has been reached, any further applications will be rolled forward to the next intake.
