Short Course - Writing

For Pleasure


Writing For Pleasure is a short 12 week course for anyone interested in Creative Writing. You will learn all aspects of the creative process such as constructing dynamic characters, settings and structures and learn to create a variety of pieces such as stories, plays and poems.

This is an ideal course to whet the appetite of beginners or novices who wish to write for pleasure, or gain employment within the creative writing industry.

The course concentrates on four key skills: Reading, writing, reflection and practical exercises.  The ethos of the course is to provide opportunities for learners to build confidence when writing in a variety of genres and styles.  The course sets out to encourage learners to: produce work which shows development, is drafted and adapted to suit context, as well as to satisfy ideal readers and listeners.  After the 12 week course, students will receive an Open Award Badge of Excellence for successful completion. 

The course is likely to run on a Wednesday evening from 6pm till 8.30pm. This course will run for 12 weeks and cost £180.
