Vacancy Short Description

An exciting opportunity to join the kitchen brigade at Alma de Cuba, in Liverpool City Centre. The role involves working in busy kitchen with a team of chefs producing high quality food using a variety of cooking methods. You will require a keen interest in food and be able to do several tasks at once and be able to show off your creative side presenting dishes in imaginative ways.

Qualifications required

Ideally a Level 1 catering/hospitality qualification and a minimum of Entry Level 3 in Maths and English but a real passion and interest in cooking is the key to this role.

 

Training to be provided

NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Hospitality Services (Food Preparation) – one day per week at Duke Street site in Liverpool city centre plus Functional Skills in English and Maths if required.

 

Expected Duration

18 Months

Other Important Information/Reality Check

Working in the catering industry requires dedication, commitment, and hard work, many of the hours are anti-social and involve late finishes, so suitable travel arrangements need to be considered.

 

Important Information to be Considered:

Training on the Apprenticeships Programme for 16 to 18 year olds is a priority and fully-funded by the Government for non-levy paying employers. Training for Apprenticeships for those over this age is part funded, with employers expected to make a part or full contribution.
