Information for Parents

Last updated on 14/09/2010

Overview

This section of the site is dedicated to parents/carers and aims to give guidance on how you can help your son or daughter as they make their choice about a course at Liverpool Community College.

We want to involve you at each stage of the young person's contact with college because we believe that together we can help them to make the most appropriate choice of course and achieve the best possible grades.

Parents will receive 2 progress reports during the academic year, usually in late December and March.

EMA

EMA is available for Year 11 school leavers aged 16-19 who come to college for 12 hours or more each week and have a household income of below £30,000. Learners may be eligible for a weekly EMA payment based on attendance. Contact the EMA helpline on 0800816219 or call in to a Learner Services unit at main college centres.

Travel

Travel passes are available for students depending on the distance travelled. Learners can enquire in Learner Services for more specific details or contact your local LEA.

Customer Support Service

Each main site has a Centre Office which deals with the administration of enrolment, examinations, travel passes, EMA and absence reporting procedures. Centre Offices are located on the ground floor of each main site.
