At Liverpool Community College core skills are built into our comprehensive range of courses which we will tailor to your individual needs.

You can be confident that as you embark on a chosen career not only will you have skills that complement your trained area of expertise, but you will also have the essential qualities employers look for when recruiting new staff.

In the next 10-15 years, work in the UK will be governed by these advances in terms of research and development, production/manufacturing processes and the nature in which we process our products and services. The change from manufacturing to service industries means a highly skilled workforce will be needed who are adaptable throughout their career to the ever changing market.

Core Skills

By 2010, the government estimates that through technological advancements 95% of all new jobs created will require level 2 or above qualifications, with over 65% of new and existing jobs requiring level 3 and above by 2012.

It is important in any career to have good literacy, numeracy and IT skills, but it is also necessary to be equipped with a wide range of employability skills that will cross all platforms of business and industries.
