Bankfield Road Nursery

Bankfield Nursery is based in one of the main college centres, situated on Bankfield road in Tuebrook (L13).

The nursery provides full day childcare to students attending Liverpool Community College. Students attending Bankfield, benefit from on-site childcare, with their children nearby whilst they study.

There are seven fully qualified Nursery Officers, five of whom are full-time staff. There are two Lunchtime Assistants employed during the lunch period to ensure there are the required number of staff available throughout the day.

The nursery provides childcare to children aged 3 months to 4 years. The children are divided into two age groups, the 0-2 year age range and the 2- 4 yr age range. There is a separate area for the 0-2 year olds, which includes a kitchen, bathroom, and two rooms providing rest and play areas.

The 2-4 year olds are cared for in a large room, with a carpeted area and wet play area for the varied activities and play opportunities the children will experience.

The nursery staff endeavour to provide 'continuous provision', where children are free to play outside whenever they choose to and there are outdoor activities available to the children throughout the day. Continuous provision offers the children increased choice and play opportunities, which support them to be active and independent learners.

The nursery provides a warm, bright and welcoming environment for the children and their families. Every child is regarded as an individual child, with his or her own unique personality. Every child will be given a 'key person', who is the member of staff who will be responsible for supporting your child to settle into the nursery and will then continue to monitor their contentment and progress at nursery. The key person will liaise with parents/carers to discuss their child's day at nursery.
