Learning Difficulties & Disabilities Support

A trained team of education support workers are here to meet the needs of learners with learning difficulties. They will support learning in a variety of educational settings and help learners to develop their confidence and skills.

Education support workers work closely with tutors to make sure learners have every opportunity to succeed. Support may be given on a one to one basis or within a small group. Support could include:

  • Confidential enquiry service
  • Assessments to help understand your learning support needs
  • In-class support, both in theory and practical classes
  • Help with taking notes
  • Explanation and help to understand work and instructions from tutors
  • Confidence building
  • Support to help raise self esteem
  • Access arrangements & adjustments for exams
  • Guidance to tutors on supporting learners with learning difficulties
  • Links with other agencies e.g. Connexions
