Instalment Policy

Fees quoted are for one academic year only. The fees are payable on commencement
of your programme of study. However, some students will have the option of paying
their fees by instalment (terms and conditions apply).
Liverpool Community College reserves the right to refuse admission to students
who currently have outstanding fees from a previous academic year/enrolment.
NB: a £15 administration fee will be charged for instalment arrangements and
will be added to the amount of course fees outstanding.
Payment Of Course Fees By Instalment
a) Instalment Policy for LSC FE students
Students paying their own fees can pay by up to 4 instalments providing that:
- The first instalment is paid at enrolment.
- Course fees are in excess of £120.
- Fees can be collected from the student's bank account (unless the student
is under 19 years and fees being paid by a parent/guardian).
- Student supplies his/her bank account details and agrees to signs a Direct Debit
mandate.
- Student has no outstanding balance of fees from a previous year.
- Student does not have, or is not in the process of, an Individual Voluntary
Arrangement (IVA).
- Student has not defaulted on instalment/payment arrangements in a previous
year.
- Programme of study is of at least 5 months duration.
- The number of instalments available to the student is dependent upon the date
of commencement/enrolment (see table on following page).
The above category is subject to the following terms and conditions:
- Students who withdraw from their programme remain liable for full course
fees.
- Liverpool Community College charges an administration fee of £15 for
instalment arrangements.
- Instalment arrangements are not available for overseas students, sponsors
or employers, or students without a UK bank account from which direct debit
payments can be collected.
- Fees will be collected on the first of each month (or next working day).
- Fees charged will normally be for one academic year only. For the majority
of courses lasting more than 1 year, fees will be charged at the start of each
year.
- Where Liverpool Community College is unable to collect payment from the
student's bank account, the full balance of fees becomes due for immediate
payment.
- Any student experiencing difficulty making a payment must immediately
contact Financial Services, Bankfield Road, Liverpool L13 0BQ -
tel. 0151 252 3254/6.
- Liverpool Community College reserves the right to withhold application for
certification for students with an outstanding balance of fees.
- If the college is unable to collect payment, the student's ID card will be
deactivated and IT account suspended, unless satisfactory payment arrangements
are made.
- If the college is unable to collect an instalment payment from the student's
bank account on more than one occasion, the student may be asked to leave their
programme but will remain liable for payment of any outstanding fees.
- Liverpool Community College is prepared to take action where necessary
through the County Court, to recover debts from learners/sponsors/employers
who do not adhere to payment arrangements and/or fail to respond to
correspondence from Financial Services. This could result in a County Court
Judgement against the student. NB: all County Court costs will be added to the
balance due from the student.
- Any student with a change of address must notify Financial Services
immediately.

Instalments arrangements for Drop in Study Centres (DISCs)
Students with course fees of £120 or more are able to pay fees by instalment,
as outlined above.
b) Full-time students following designated full-time HEFCE funded courses and Initial Teacher Training (DTLLS) courses
HE students in this category who do not possess confirmation from the Student
Loans Company (SLC) that all fees will be paid to the college by SLC, will be
required to enter into an instalment agreement at enrolment. Payment of fees will be
spread over three equal instalments (no administrative fee will be charged). The
payment dates are:-
First Instalment: 5th November 2009
Second Instalment: 5th February 2010
Third Instalment: 5th May 2010
c) Part time HEFCE funded students (excluding DTLLS).
Student in receipt of Job Seeker's Allowance applying for a tuition fee grant - no
fees will be charged at enrolment. Fees are payable in 4 instalments, commencing 1st
November, if confirmation of grant has not been received from SLC. Instalment
arrangements must be made at enrolment.
d) All other part time (excluding DTLLS)
Instalment arrangements and terms and conditions, as LSC FE students.
Terms and conditions for categories b), c) and d) above
- Instalment arrangements are not available for overseas students, sponsors or

student's bank account, the full balance of fees becomes due for immediate

General Notes
Students should ensure they receive the blue copy of the completed direct
debit mandate.
Overseas students (i.e. student visa holders) and dependants of overseas students
are not eligible for payment of fees by instalment. Fees must be paid in full before
commencing their course i.e. at enrolment.
Other students from abroad paying at the overseas rate but who have not entered
the UK on a student visa (e.g. overseas visitors) are eligible for payment of fees
by instalment, providing they have a UK current bank account and are able to make
Direct Debit arrangements.
