Tears of joy as mature student gets on track to dream job

28-year-old hopes to become a midwife

A college student is one step closer to her dream job today after achieving the grades needed to pursue a midwifery career.

28-year-old Faye Richards returned to learning at The City of Liverpool College to finish her GCSEs after deciding to build a career in the healthcare sector.

Faye, who was moved to tears when she spoke about the support received from the College, said: "I was so nervous taking my GCSE exams - especially Maths because I hated it at school. I feel amazing and have nothing but praise for my tutor who was full of encouragement and helped me so much."

Faye will study on an Access to Higher Education course at the College in September, before moving on to university to study Midwifery.
