Background
We are one of the largest further education colleges in England with 5 main centres and numerous outreach facilities in neighbourhood venues.
The college provides more than 500 academic and vocational courses for more than 17,000 students each year. The programmes range from basic skills to higher education qualifications. We are proud of our continuing record in providing education and training and a way into employment for may people traditionally excluded from these opportunities
Management
The college is run by a senior management team (SMT) overseen by the Corporation Board. The SMT consists of the Principal, 3 Vice Principals and 4 assistant principals.

The Curriculum
The college provides courses covering all areas of learning. The available qualification range from entry level through levels 1,2 and 3 to foundation degree & BA (Hons)
Support for Learners
This is structured around the following services:
Student Services
- 5 units providing advice and guidance
- Central unit providing – financial advice, counselling, welfare advice and course enquiries
Nurseries
- At 2* centres providing sessional day care * I nursery currently located off site until opening of New Learner Centre
Learning Resource Centres
- At all 5 main centre, each with full library and It access services, Students and staff can use all LRC's irrespective of their own ‘base'
Study Support
The college provides a range of support services for students:
- In english & maths
- For those with learning difficulties & disabilities
- In language for those whose first language is not english
This college is recognised as one of the best in the country for basic skills teaching and support for learners

The College Estate
Each of the main college buildings is called Liverpool Community College, further identified (except for the Arts Centre) by location:
Liverpool Community College Arts Centre: Opened in 1999 (now incorporates our premises at Mulberry street which opened in 2006)
- Visual, performing arts and media including art, drama. fashion & clothing, photography, interactive media,3D digital imaging. games design.
- Centre for 16-18 year old students providing courses in Business and It, Hospitality, sport & health.
Liverpool Community College Bankfield Road: Refurbished /reopened in November 2006
- AAT accounting at foundation, intermediate and technician levels, CIPD qualification, AMSPAR and OCR medical qualification, ITQ qualifications, english & maths, Access to HE. English for speakers of other languages (ESOL) Teacher Education and DISC
Liverpool Community College Duke Street: Opened in 2003
- Bakery and catering, hairdressing, beauty and holistic therapies, DISC
Liverpool Community College Vauxhall Road: Opened in 2003
- Building crafts, building services, mechanical and electronic engineering and motor vehicle. Sport and fitness programmes. DISC
