This course is a great progression route from the Certificate in Education/DTLLS or other level 5 teaching or training qualification and takes two years to complete. It is primarily aimed at those working either within the education and training sector or related areas looking to further their professional knowledge and skills.

This course is particularly suitable for those wishing to progress from a Certificate in Education, DTLLS or other level 5 teaching qualification to a degree. It takes two years (part-time) to attain the degree and you can choose to complete either an unclassified degree or a degree with honours.

The course is delivered in partnership with the University of Huddersfield through an innovative ‘blended learning’ style, which combines face-to-face Saturday day schools at the University and creative on line activities with both individual and collaborative study. Tutorials take place at The City of Liverpool College at times to suit your availability.

Course content:

This course is aimed at the professional development needs of teachers or trainers in further, higher, adult and secondary education and those who work in related areas such as health, careers, uniformed services and private training organisations.

The degree will help you broaden your knowledge and understanding of theoretical and policy issues and research methods in education and training, with direct application to your own professional context. It provides an opportunity to develop your professional and personal confidence within your working practice with a view to enhancing your career.

Assessment is based on essays, presentations and projects at the end of each module. All students receive personal tutorial support and guidance.
