This employer approved qualification covers a good grounding for cookery and hospitality services all leading to employment opportunities.

This NVQ course is suitable for anyone with or without experience who wishes to learn new professional cookery skills at Level 2.

It is perfect if you have also been a chef for a while but have not gained any formal qualifications, as it can easily be fitted around your full or part time work commitments.

To gain an NVQ you need to show you've got a particular set of skills. You will work with your trainer/assessor to review your current skills and find the best way to gain new ones.

NVQs can be assessed either at work or in one of our college realistic working environments. For each unit your assessor watches and asks questions as you perform a task, or looks at a portfolio of work that you've built as formal evidence of your learning. Then they confirm you've got the skills to do the job well.
