How will I be taught?

Teaching and Learning methods include creative, technical and practical workshop sessions, underpinned with formal lectures and seminars with relevant theoretical, practitioner, historical and cultural reference.

Practical modules take place in the studio environment with tutor support and guidance, and with extra independent learning sessions also timetabled to allow access to the specialist equipment and resources. Links with outside arts organisations and professionals allow for a greater range of professional contact and experiential learning.

How will I be assessed?

The programme is assessed mainly through practical performance and assessment; continuous assessment across rehearsal and development and evaluative interviews to assess personal development and contribution. The submission of written essays, evaluations, logbooks and presentations is also a part of the HNC; learning research, academic skill and writing skill to ensure that students are equipped for higher level learning.

Students will gain formative feedback verbally for both written work and practical assessment. Peer and self-assessment is an essential element of personal development which enhances the learning experience and allows space for personal evaluation.

Additional Costs

Students may be required to purchase their own materials for any specialist projects they undertake as part of the course.

Please note: this course will only run when it has a sufficient number of applicants.
