What to expect from the course
- This qualification will enable you to set up in business as a personal trainer or work for one of the large health and fitness companies now operating in the region.
You will cover the following topics:
- Anatomy and Physiology (muscles, bones, heart)
- Nutrition (diet plans)
- Plan and Prepare Personal Training Sessions
- Instruct and Supervise Personal Training Sessions.
You can expect to be assessed in a number of different ways, which will give you an insight into the exercise and fitness industry.

Microsoft Office 365 - Free
When you become a student of the College you’ll receive full access to Microsoft Office 365. This allows you to install the software on your own computer and other devices at home, completely free of charge.
Onsite Sports Facilities/Fitness Suite
The college has excellent sports and fitness facilities at its Roscoe Street campus. Students pay a one-off membership fee for all year round usage of weekly supervised gym sessions, as well as access to a number of sporting clubs and events.

Entry Requirements
You must be over 18 years of age to study this course.
The following is a guide as to what you might be expected to achieve to gain entry onto the course.
A minimum of 5 GCSEs grade 4 (Previously C) or above including Maths and English Language OR a minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above including Maths and English Language and relevant subject qualification OR a minimum of Level 2 course in your chosen subject at merit or above and English Language and Maths at Level 2.
An enthusiasm and passion to succeed and develop yourself with great attendance will be vital to you achieving success on this course.
Fees
If you are 16-18 years old at the start of your course, studying at The City of Liverpool College is free. If you are aged between 19-23 and don’t have 2 A-Levels (or equivalent), you won't have to pay any fees for this course.
24 years old or over or 19-23 and have 2 A-Levels (or equivalent) at the start of the course? Fees are payable, but you may qualify for an Advanced Learner Loan to cover the cost of your course. Please note this is a two year programme that consists of two courses. Your fee status may change from one year to the next depending on age and circumstance at the start of the next course e.g. if you turn 19 before progressing to the next level, you may be required to pay fees as outlined above.
