What to expect from the course

Successful completion of the Blueflame Unvented Hot Water Systems qualification will enable you to join a 'Competence Persons Scheme' and self-certify installations for compliance with Part G of the Building Regulations.

The course is to enable practising plumbing and heating engineers to show their competency in the design, installation and servicing of vented and unvented hot water systems. Prospective candidates will also gain an understanding of the vented and unvented hot water system design and installation requirements in relation to the Building Regulation G3 and water regulations.

The course is open to candidates who have previously obtained a Level 3 or equivalent, or are working towards a Level 3 in plumbing Gas and heating or have the relevant work experience.

The aim of this course is to train candidates in the installation and safety requirements of unvented hot water systems. The candidate will gain an understanding of Building Regulation Part G and associated legislation.

This course is suitable for operatives, managers and personnel involved within the Design, Installation, Commissioning and Maintenance of Unvented Hot Water Storage systems.

The one day course consists of:-

• Tutor led detailed training sessions
• Practical demonstrations with working systems and the Blueflame assessment.

This learning package has been developed by Blueflame to help plumbers to update their knowledge of this important legislation which is used to control the installation and use of unvented systems. Have an understanding of the unvented hot water systems. Bring participants up to a standard where they can attend a one day training and assessment course.

The college has excellent sports and fitness facilities at its Roscoe Street campus. Students pay a one-off membership fee for all year round usage of weekly supervised gym sessions, as well as access to a number of sporting clubs and events.


Career pathways

Upon completion of the course the candidate will be able to:

• Recognise the various forms of hot water supplies.
• State the functional requirements of unvented domestic hot water systems.
• Design an Unvented system to comply with Part G of the Building Regulations.
• Carry out commissioning of an Unvented System State and rectify common causes of faults in an unvented system.

Entry Requirements

Level 2 in plumbing and heating , working towards a level 3 qualification in plumbing, gas or heating and ventilation or have relevant experience.

Fees

This course is only available to learners aged 19 and over. Fees are payable by all students unless sponsored by an employer.
