IT Systems Support & Networking

Level 2 Diploma

CompTIA A+ and Network+ with BTEC Level 2 Diploma for ICT Practitioners (Systems Support/Networking)

The course covers both the CompTIA A+ and Network+ in addition to the BTEC Level 2 Diploma in IT (Systems Support) and is aimed at students wishing to move into the field of IT support or those already working within the field to progress in their careers.

CompTIA A+ certification validates the latest skills needed by today's computer support professionals. It is an international, vendor-neutral certification recognized by major hardware and software vendors, distributors and resellers. CompTIA A+ certification confirms a technician's ability to perform tasks such as installation, configuration, diagnosing, preventive maintenance and basic networking. The exams also cover domains such as security, safety and environmental issues and communication and professionalism.

CompTIA Network+ validates the knowledge and skills of networking professionals. It is an international, vendor-neural certification that recognises a technician's ability to describe the features and functions of networking components and to install, configure and troubleshoot basic networking hardware, protocols and services.

To be awarded the CompTIA Network+ candidates must successfully complete 1 unit, assessed by one examination, of 90 minutes duration consisting of 80 questions each. These examinations are taken at a Prometric authorised test centre.

The course is delivered alongside the BTEC National Diploma with units that relate to the content of the CompTIA qualifications including an Introduction to Computer Systems, Software Installation and Upgrade, Technical Fault Diagnosis and Remedy and IT Essentials (CISCO) and is aimed at preparing students to go onto successful complete Cisco CCNA.
