Vacancy Description   

A Front of House Apprenticeship Role in Food & Beverage Service, with training delivered by The City of Liverpool College, and full training given on site. This role requires a positive approach to serving customers with food and drinks in our popular eatery in Allerton Road.

Main duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Maintain a safe, hygienic and secure working environment

  • Give customers a positive impression of self and our business

  • Work effectively as part of a hospitality team

  • To take food and drink orders accordingly - so good listening skills

  • To serve hot food and drinks – alcoholic, soft and hot.

  • To meet and greet Customers

  • Preparation and clearing of service areas

  • Promoting additional and alternative products to customers

  • To be involved in team discussions and to bring ideas for improving business/services

  • To maintain a flexible approach to work and prioritisetasks

We are a local popular eatery serving a wide range of menu items to appeal to a variety of tastes, from Sunday roasts to Brunches, fish platters to vegetarian choices.

Qualifications Required  

Ideally a Level 1 catering/hospitality qualification and a minimum of Entry Level 3 in Maths and English but a real passion and interest in customer service, in a hospitality role, is the key to this role.

  

Training to be Provided

NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Hospitality Services (Food & Beverage Service) – one day per week at Duke Street site in Liverpool city centre plus Functional Skills in English and Maths if required.

 

Expected Duration

Up to 15 Months

Other Important Information/Reality Check

Working in the hospitality industry requires dedication, commitment, and hard work, many of the hours are anti-social and involve late finishes, so suitable travel arrangements need to be considered.

 

Important Information to be Considered:

Training on the Apprenticeships Programme for 16 to 18 year olds is a priority and fully-funded by the Government for non-levy paying employers. Training for Apprenticeships for those over this age is part funded, with employers expected to make a part or full contribution.
