Vacancy Description   

 

We have a vacancy for an Information Technology Apprentice who can help with first level IT support to our technicians on site and off site. The successful post-holder will be developed to support the business in an IT technical role whilst also supporting our ICT administration functions. It will involve study for the IT apprentice qualification at The City of Liverpool College half a day per week.

We are looking to grow our team and believe we can develop and mentor an apprentice to join our existing team.

We are looking for a Junior IT Technician/Administrator to provide both technical and administrative support to the company directors as well as other members of the team. This role plays a vital part in the smooth-running of the business on a daily basis.

The role will vary day to day however, full on-site training will be given.   Ideally we are looking for somebody who can work well within a team, has good written and oral communication skills, is organised and has the ability to multi-task and work well under pressure.

Main duties would be to:

  • Provide 1st level IT support to senior Technicians – onsite and offsite.
  • Communicating via telephone, email and ticket system.
  • Dealing with telephone and email enquiries;

 

Predominately the role is a Technical role, candidates need to be looking for a career within IT. Full training will be given however, a basic technical understanding would be an advantage.

Qualifications Required

 

GCSE’s grades A-C in English, Maths and ICT are essential for this role.

  

Training to be Provided

 

IT Professional & Telecomms Level 3 to include visits every 3-4 weeks for workplace assessment. This course also requires the apprentice to attend College once per week to attend knowledge sessions of 3 hours If the post-holder requires Functional Skills qualifications then there is the need for attendance at additional 2 hour knowledge sessions for 10 weeks (for either English or Maths) at the start of the programme at a City of Liverpool College centre in the city centre.

 

Expected Duration

15-18 Months

 

Future Prospects   

 

On successful completion of the apprenticeship the post will be reviewed and there would be the opportunity of a full-time position.
