Wrestler overjoyed to achieve A-levels aged 33

A professional wrestler who left school at 16 celebrates achieving A-levels at the age of 33.

City of Liverpool College student, Andrew Jackson, achieved two Bs in Chemistry and Maths taking him one step closer to his dream of studying astrophysics at the University of Liverpool.

His two-year A-level course marked a return to the classroom after more than a decade working as a professional wrestler.

Mature student Andrew, who left school to find a job at 16, was surrounded by younger classmates when he picked up his grades and said: “It hasn’t sunk in yet. These are the results I was realistically hoping for, so I’m absolutely delighted.

“When I’ve looked at my options and realise I’m now a step closer to doing what I want to do, I'm very happy.”
