Specialising in hair colouring we offer a range of stylish hairdressing services for ladies and gentlemen.


Vacancy  Description

This is an ideal opportunity for an aspiring hairdresser who has bags of common sense to gain working experience through a Level 2 programme in the salon. The programme will also be delivered through attending The City of Liverpool College one day per week. Working with experienced stylists the salon needs someone who has a passion to succeed as a hairdresser.

We are looking for an apprentice hair dresser to enrol on a Level 2 Apprenticeship with The City of Liverpool College.

You will help with the following tasks:

• Shampooing and conditioning

• Advising on minor hair and scalp problems

• Making appointments and handling payments

• Ordering materials

• Making sure that hair products containing chemicals are used and stored correctly

• Mixing tints and applying them

• Starting/Finishing blow dry’s etc.

The role will also involve housekeeping & cleaning duties

  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Able to work with hands
  • Excellent customer service skills/courteous


Qualifications required

Ideally a minimum of GCSE grades A-E or Level 1 in English and Maths but a real passion for hairdressing is the key to this role.

Training to be provided

The Hairdressing Level 2 apprenticeship involves attending College one day per week (term-time only, near Duke Street) to gain the Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Hair and Functional Skills Level 1 in English and Maths. If GCSEs are already held then the apprentice will not need the Functional Skills. 


Future Prospects

On successful completion of the apprenticeship the post will be reviewed and there may be the opportunity of a full-time position


Reality Check

Must have good transport access to the salon.

Training on the Apprenticeships Programme for 16 to 18 year olds is a priority and fully-funded by the Government for non-levy paying employers. Training for Apprenticeships for those over this age is part funded, with employers expected to make a part or full contribution.
