Description

This course is sheer fun. No theory except the obligatory Health & Safety built into each look. This course has been re-vamped and upgraded to include more commercial styling and special occasion looks. Due to changing fashion trends each course is slightly different.

There is no exam but you will receive a college certificate. It can be tailor made for the looks you would like to learn or you can sit back and watch the demonstrations and then with guided help - Create. It is targeted at Make-Up Artists who need to ‘dress hair’ as part of their extended skills. Hairdressers of any level, (salon owners/managers – who wish to upgrade their own skill & train their own staff). Anyone who would like to explore their creative talents through the medium of hair.

During the 10 weeks of this course you will learn a selection of the following skills:

• Gripping, pinning and securing hair • Plaiting & multi braiding • Weaving • Twisting • Pin curling • Finger waving / Marcel waving / dry waving • Dressing a bouffant • Dressing a French Pleat (vertical roll) • Using products to aid dressing hair • Tonging, use of heated irons to curl • Rik Rak • Rolls • Knots and bubbles • Adding hair wefts to enhance a style • Demonstration of adding hair pieces ? The looks will demonstrate how to combine several skill together to achieve a fashionable look. ? There will be advice on how to build a professional portfolio and an optional opportunity to take part in a professional photo shoot. The course will include dry dressing and does not cover curly blow - drying, however you can get that look another quicker way. Please make sure you record every lesson with photographs. Your first lesson you will need: • Block head & clamp • Combs & brushes • Sectioning clamps • A packet of Xpression hair • Two large donut pads • Grips and pins • Hairspray • Optional wedding ornamentation/veil
