Thredit is a vibrant clothing decoration company based in central Wirral, selling online internationally and locally. Learn on the job with varied experiences across design, print and embroidery at our studio workshop. We want to find someone with a bright personality and excellent practical skills to join and grow with our small business.

 

Vacancy Description

We have a position available for a young apprentice to join us and learn various techniques and skills for garment decoration. To be involved in the design and development of new products, and new ideas for clothing print and embroidery.

The job will include full training in all aspects, leading to responsibilities in:

  • Embroidery and print design using industry leading software.
  • Customer service and visual communication.
  • Embroidery production and operation of industrial machinery.
  • Print production and operation of CAD/CAM and screen print press machines.
  • Garment presentation, photography, packaging, and distribution.

You will be trained to a high standard in all aspects including fabric knowledge and understanding of materials, to help maintain quality control and assurance. As part of a small team you may also be asked to help out in all aspects of day to day tasks.

Qualifications required

GCSE Maths / English D or above. Similar in art / design / or textiles.

 

Training to be provided

NVQ Level 2 Fashion and Textiles

 

Expected Duration

18 months

The right candidate will hopefully become a valued member of the team with great opportunities to grow with the business. They will be considered as more advanced roles become available.

 

Working Week

30+ hours per week. Most weekday afternoons 12:00-18:00. Flexibility is preferred.

 

Reality Check

Must have good access to workshop in Arrowe Park / Upton Wirral.

(Central location easily accessed by car / Wirral bus services).

Role requires lifting, standing for long periods, working on machines requires good level of hand/eye co-ordination and attention. Computer literacy.

 

Important Information to be Considered

Training on the Apprenticeships Programme for 16 to 18 year olds is a priority and fully-funded by the Government for non-levy paying employers. Training for Apprenticeships for those over this age is part funded, with employers expected to make a part or full contribution.
