Be part of the International Festival for Business 2014

This year, Liverpool welcomes the world’s largest international business event in 2014. The International Festival for Business, is an ambitious festival attracting businesses from over 125 countries and draws in almost 250,000 visitors to our city. The City of Liverpool College has taken this fantastic opportunity to play an active part in the festival, which takes place over 50 days between June and July this year. Logistics in Action

Logistics in Action gives an accurate insight into the world of work through the logistics industry. The made in China SuperPort challenge complements the strategic regeneration for North Liverpool and South Sefton. Created by Skills for Logistics to help bring alive some mathematical and enterprise concepts within a ‘real world’ setting.

B2B Networking and Champagne Afternoon Tea

We’re pleased to hold this event in one of the finest neo-classical buildings in the world, St George’s Hall, which will be for festival delegates and local businesses to network and discuss potential business opportunities. The beautiful surroundings of St Georges Hall will give the event a relaxing atmosphere, with classical music and a tour of the iconic building to discover its rich history.

Event objectives - For delegtes and local business to network and discuss potential business opportunities whilst enjoying a relaxing afternoon in beautiful surroundings.

Breakfast Networking Event at Bread and More St Georges Hall

Our breakfast networking event aims to bring together employers for potential networking opportunities and also provide them with an understanding of how their organisation can be supported by The City of Liverpool College. Whether it’s recruiting new employees or developing their current staff to meet the organization goals more effectively.

We will also discuss opportunities to access free funding during the event, and have guest speakers discussing a number of topics. Our target audience is local, regional and international business decision-makers, HR managers or people with responsibility for staff recruitment and training.

The Liverpool Canal Link Cleanup 2014

The City of Liverpool College will be showcasing our divers from the Glaciere Academy to help clean up our local canal. As a team, we’ll be cleaning up the vital canal link and highlight the importance of a clean image for city business and the environment. The canal link site is directly opposite where the cruise terminal is which is the first view international visitors have of the city.  The dive has been organized in conjunction with the Canal and River Trust and is a great opportunity for members of the public and delegates to get involved.

Come down to watch and learn about our dives and other business projects we are involved in. There is also the opportunity for members of the public/delegates to be involved in the dive if they wish.

Technical Presentation – Energy & Design

For this event, students will be offered the opportunity to present their group project in front of local employers who will be in the same industry, which will provide an excellent opportunity to drive forward future employment opportunities.

The formal side of the presentation will be carried out by one of our senior lecturers who specialises in energy consideration and whole life cycle planning. There is a definable link between each presentation and this will show relevance with the formal lecture linking to the subjects covered.

We will be asking for local employer participation as well as members of the public who have an interest in the subject. There will be a question and answer session at the end of the presentations aimed at covering a wide range of subject matter relative to Low Carbon and Renewable Technologies.

Enterprise Exchange

For this event, we hope to link and create opportunities for entrepreneurial individuals to meet with experts and business partners and form links to discuss potential opportunities.

This event aims to engage entrepreneurial HE and FE students and provide them with an insight into Business Start-up opportunities including mentoring and business support. Delegates are welcome to attend, offer advice, participate and support the event whilst linking in with potential entrepreneurs if relevant.
