Working week – Shifts TBC by employer (term time only) – Total hours per week: 35.00

Weekly wage – £129.50

Expected apprenticeship duration – 15 months

 

Yew Tree Coffee Barn provides quality food in a relaxing atmosphere whilst offering views of the greenbelt countryside. Enjoy a day out whatever the weather, sit back with a hot drink in front of roaring log fire or relax outside watching the hens and sheep roam whilst eating ice-cream. All the ingredients used in the menu are available to buy from the farm shop. 

Yew Tree Coffee Barn  are seeking a friendly, courteous and organised person to be our front-of-house/reception apprentice. As the initial contact for our customers, the successful applicant would be involved in a multi-functional role that will offer the opportunity to develop a range of skills and knowledge in the hospitality sector.

Through the workplace and via attending College one day a week you will develop knowledge and skills and perform duties in the following:

  • Deal with arrival of customers
  • Deal with bookings
  • Prepare customer accounts and deal with departures
  • Use office equipment including IT
  • Give customers a positive impression of yourself and the hotel
  • Deal with incoming telephone calls from customers
  • Resolve customer service problems
  • Deal with customer across a language divide
  • Maintain and deal with payments
  • Serve hot and cold drinks

  • Customer service skills
  • Positive attitude
  • Ideally previous experience of working in a customer service environment will help but is not essential

Personal qualities

  • Positive personality
  • Great with people
  • Able to keep calm and positive in a pressured environment

Desired qualifications

  • Ideally GCSEs or equivalents in English and maths grades A-C (9-4) but these are not essential. A real interest in food /customer service, willingness to be involved with food preparation and commitment to studies is the key to achieving this apprenticeship
