Our Pharmacy Assistants assemble prescriptions, assist patients with prescription queries, and help treat minor ailments.

Full Description

Main Responsibilities 

Our Pharmacy Assistants carry out a wide variety of roles including:

  • Advising patients with minor ailments as to the correct treatment to use. 
  • Labelling prescriptions and resolving queries. 
  • Assembling prescriptions, including blister packs. 
  • Ordering and management of Pharmacy stock. 
  • Organising the delivery of medications. 
  • Carrying out minor diagnostic procedures such as taking a patient’s blood pressure. 
  • Organising and sorting of prescriptions for payment. 

Working Week: 40 hours over 5 days, Monday to Friday 10am-6pm  (One day per week will be spent in the College)


Desired Skills

The position requires someone with an outgoing personality who has good customer services skills and likes meeting new people. The candidate would be joining a close-knit team and would need to work well within it.  

Desired Personal Qualities

The position involves dealing with patients with a variety of needs. It would suit a highly motivated person, keen to learn new skills. Personal qualities such as being caring and empathetic would be useful.  

Qualifications Required

Mathematics and English GCSE at Grade 4 or above. 


Training to be Provided

Level 2 Pharmacy Services Assistant Apprenticeship

Future Prospects

Successful completion of this apprenticeship may lead to a full time position.
