Accounting — Level 2 Certificate (Aged 19+)

Course information

The aim of this qualification is to introduce students to basic accounting and finance skills. This is a vocationally related, credit-based qualification that provides a valuable opportunity for individuals to develop skills, gain underpinning knowledge and understanding, as well as offering further progression in the accounting and finance sectors.
It can be a standalone qualification or a vehicle for progression to the Level Three Advanced Diploma.
The course is designed for students who are 19 years or older and is suited to:
• Those students who have successfully completed the Level One Award in Bookkeeping
• Those who work in accounts and would like a formal qualification in the field
• Students who would like to acquire new skills to help with a change in career
• Learners who would like to become a graduate member of the AAT and eventually progress to chartered
status in the accountancy profession.
Once you have enrolled on the course, it is essential that you register with the AAT so that you can sit the AAT online assessments and access study resources.
The course modules include:
Module 1 - Bookkeeping Transaction
Module 2 – Bookkeeping Control
Module 3 – Elements of Costings
Module 4 – Using Accounting Software
Module 5 and 6 extend your learning further.

Qualifications

Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT): Level Two Foundation Certificate in Accounting.

Entry Requirements

You must be aged 19 or over.
GCSE English Language and Mathematics.
Level One Award in Bookkeeping or relevant work experience in the accounting or finance sector - which is at the discretion of the course tutor.

Fees

If you are 16-18 years old at the start of your course, studying at The City of Liverpool College is free. If you are aged between 19-23 and don’t already hold a qualification equivalent to 5 GCSEs at grade 4 (C) or above, and you need to study at Entry or Level 1 to progress to Level 2, you won't have to pay any fees for this course.
