Associate Project Manager — Level 4 Apprenticeship Standard

Course information

Every project needs to be managed to ensure its success. An associate project manager knows what needs to be achieved, how it will be achieved, how long it will take, how much it will cost, and works with the project team to achieve the required outcomes. They need good planning, organisation, leadership, management and communication skills. An associate project manager utilises resources with suitable skills, qualifications, experience and knowledge to work together in a motivated and integrated team, with clearly defined reporting lines, roles, responsibilities and authorities.

Earnings:
The National Minimum Wage for an Apprentice is £3.90 per hour - however most employers tend to pay significantly above this rate. As skills develop many employers tend to increase wages.
The hourly rate is paid for time working in the workplace and training both on and off the job including College time.
Apprentices aged 19 years or over who have already spent a year on an apprenticeship must be paid for at least the full National Minimum Wage appropriate to their age:
18-20 years £6.15 per hour
21-24 years £7.70 per hour
25 and over £8.21 per hour
Holidays:
Holidays will be agreed with the employer. The minimum entitlement is 20 days per year plus Bank Holidays.

Qualifications

Apprentices are required to achieve a suitable level of knowledge as part of their development such that they achieve an IPMA Level D qualification or APM Project Management Qualification, prior to their End Point Assessment.
Upon commencement, apprentices may become student members of the Association for Project Management (APM) as the first step of professional membership. Apprentices will be eligible for progression to associate membership upon successful completion of the apprenticeship. Full membership can be attained through further experience and professional development.

ILM management apprenticeships: L5 Operations/Departmental Manager, L6 Chartered Manager Degree and L7 Senior Leader Master's Degree.

Entry Requirements

Will be determined by the employer - typically 5 GCSE's grade A-C, progression from L3 Apprenticeship, or ability to demonstrate the appropriate knowledge, skills and competency levels.
