Course information
The Access to Higher Education Diploma is a level three qualification which prepares people without traditional qualifications for study at university. The course is structured to allow students to develop both knowledge of their subjects and the academic skills to progress to university.
The combination of subjects will allow you to build up extensive subject knowledge in the core subjects of; business studies, management and human resources and business finance. In addition to this you will be able to develop your academic and subject skills in a supportive environment, which will allow you to make the transition to degree level.
You will have access to outstanding academic and pastoral support, detailed online materials and the full Microsoft 365 suite during your studies.
The course is taught at the Clarence Street building, takes one academic year (September to the end of June) and is taught over 3 days.
IMPORTANT: You must be aged 19 or over to be able to study on an Access programme.

This course leads to degrees in a diverse range of areas, including; business studies, human resources and accountancy.
Our students have been successful in creating their own businesses and pursuing careers in marketing, fashion, accountancy and Human resources along with a variety of other established roles. Our students have also successfully gone on to complete a wide range of further academic qualifications including Masters and PhDs.
Entry Requirements
The entry requirements to study on the science pathway are:
You must be aged 19 or over with a GCSE 4/C or above in English, maths and two science subjects.
Equivalent qualifications will not be accepted unless otherwise confirmed by the relevant higher education institutions you are looking to progress onto.

If you take out an Advanced Learner Loan to fund an Access to HE Diploma, then go on to complete a higher education course, you will be eligible to have the balance of your Advanced Learner Loan written off.
