Fashion Design — Level 2 (October Start)

Course information

This exciting programme is designed to provide an opportunity for those who have an interest in fashion and textiles to gain an accredited qualification and progress to a career in the sector.
The course provides knowledge, understanding and skills through a range of activities including observational drawing and fashion illustration, researching fashion designers and trends, developing design ideas for garments, production of patterns for garments, garment construction and experimental textile techniques.
The course is delivered through a series of workshops and students will undertake a series of internally assessed assignment briefs. Students will have the opportunity to visit galleries and exhibitions as part of the course and take part in the College end of year fashion show.
Many students progress to a higher level of study or become self-employed developing skills for family and business clients.

Entry Requirements

Level 1 Qualification or 3 GCSE's at Grade 3/D or equivalent and an interview to include evidence of a portfolio of fashion related work

All students exhibit their work at an end of year fashion show within the city centre attended by family, friends the awarding body and employers.
