IELTS is an internationally accepted qualification for non-native English speakers intending to study at university. So if you are new to IELTS or wish to improve your IELTS score, this course is ideal for you. Over twelve weeks you will focus on the four parts of the exam, as well as vocabulary development, exam techniques and feature regular exam practice.
Students typically aim for a 6 to 6.5 score to secure their place on most courses, however other courses such as medicine can ask for scores of at least 7.5.
Delivered during the evening at The City of Liverpool College, Preparation for IELTS is a 30 hour course and will prepare you to sit the exam at an external test centre. The qualification itself covers listening, speaking, reading and writing. This intensive course will give you an understanding of the requirements of the IELTS exams, and essentially prepare you in exam techniques and help you with some of your current language errors.
IELTS is accepted as evidence of English language proficiency by over 9,000 organisations worldwide. It is recognised as a secure, valid and reliable indicator of your ability to communicate in English for education, immigration and professional accreditation.
Please note that this is an exam preparation courses only. Students will need to book and pay for their IELTS exam separately at The University of Liverpool, or at the Manchester test centre if it is needed for immigration purposes.
