  • This course covers communication techniques, interpersonal skills and group interactions, as well as how to store and retrieve information in a way that complies with the law.
  • Learn a key transferable skill whcih is prized across multiple areas of work.

What to expect from the course

There are many organisations that provide information, advice or guidance services on issues such as: careers and employment, education and training, financial advice on issues such as debt, loans, mortgages and savings, childcare options, housing options, health care, disability, drug or alcohol addiction.

For many businesses, being able to offer clear and accurate information, advice or guidance (IAG) - and knowing what can be shared legally and professionally - is really important.

This course covers communication techniques, interpersonal skills and group interactions, as well as how to store and retrieve information in a way that complies with the law.

Learning will take place via an online platform, you will be able to learn at a time that suits you without the need to attend college. At the start of your course, you will be allocated a tutor who will support you through your qualification and you will be provided with all learning and assessment materials which have been specifically developed to support you in meeting the qualification requirements, you will agree a learning plan and discuss any concerns you may have.

Your tutor will also provide you with written feedback on the assessments you submit as well as ongoing support through a remote tutorial, regular Teams sessions will also be available as well as the opportunity to drop-in to sessions at the college if you wish.

The Academy Bakery is located on the Duke Street campus, producing a range of first class baked goods daily. Duke Street is also home to The Academy Hair and Beauty salons. They offer generous student discounts on a wide range of hair and beauty treatments, at a fraction of high-street prices. Academy Restaurant

Duke Street campus is also home to the College’s Academy Restaurant. Often referred to by it’s customers as Liverpool’s hidden gem, the restaurant serves top class cuisine, at highly competitive prices. Food is expertly prepared by professional chef/tutors and young chefs in training and offers students a range of discounts at different times of the year.

When you become a student of the College you’ll receive full access to Microsoft Office 365. This allows you to install the software on your own computer and other devices at home, completely free of charge.

Onsite Sports Facilities/Fitness Suite

The college has excellent sports and fitness facilities at its Roscoe Street campus. Students pay a one-off membership fee for all year round usage of weekly supervised gym sessions, as well as access to a number of sporting clubs and events.

Entry Requirements

To enrol on this course you must have turned 19 years of age before the 31st August 2024, have a Grade C or 4 in English, good IT skills and access to a PC or laptop.

Funding eligibility for the course will also be assessed during your online enrolment.

Learners are expected to meet all of their agreed deadlines for submission of work, regular contact with your assigned tutor will be available.
