This qualification is an introduction into getting a job in the Exercise and Fitness industry;
You will cover topics including;

- Anatomy and Physiology (Muscles, Bones, Heart)
- Principles of Exercise (How you would train different people)
- Plan and Prepare Gym Based Exercise
- Work with clients to help them adhere to exercise and physical activity
- Instruct and Supervise Gym Based Exercise

You can expect a lot of different ways of being assessed giving you an insight into the exercise and fitness industry

Qualifications

Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Instructing Exercise & Fitness

This course leads to...

The course will allow you to work in:
• Local Authority Leisure Centres
• Sport Centres
• Private Health Club
• Cruise Liners
• Sport Clubs
The course will also allow you to progress onto Level 3 courses or equivalent (including Level 3 Personal Training, Level 3 Sports Therapy and Level 3 Sports Massage).

Entry Requirements

All ages - you must enjoy working with people, show enthusiasm and commitment to the subject as well as being outgoing, motivated and enjoying being with people. You may be accepted without formal qualifications if you have had relevant work experience and successfully complete an initial assessment.

Fees

If you are 16-18 years old at the start of your course, studying at The City of Liverpool College is free. If you are aged between 19-23 and don’t already hold a qualification equivalent to 5 GCSEs at grade 4 (C) or above, and you need to study at Entry or Level 1 to progress to Level 2, you won't have to pay any fees for this course.
