Course information
The City of Liverpool College offers this one-year course which is designed for students over 17 years of age who want a fast track media production qualification. Our foundation diploma allows you to develop skills in media production practice to help you assess your strengths to confirm your specialist area of interest. This fast track course provides you with the skills and the necessary experience and qualifications for progression to a wide range of university courses.
The course is highly practical with learning taking place using a range of professional production and digital equipment. Students will begin by:- • Examining theoretical and practical work relating to key aspects of narrative,
• Genre, and film styles,
• Sketchbook development,
• Ideas generation,
• Scriptwriting,
• Moving Image production in both fictional and factual projects.
Students develop their skills and understanding across all practical roles related to moving-image production, during the course students create an on-going portfolio of their own individual work which reflects the skills they have learnt their interests as well as future career or progression routes.
During the final stage, you will undertake and complete a major seven-week project, reflecting on your chosen specialist area and your planned progression path.

Entry Requirements
Students for foundation diplomas are normally expected to possess at least five GCSEs, grade 4 or above, including English and Maths.
Other relevant and equivalent qualifications are considered on an individual basis.
