Course information
The UAL Level 3 Diploma in Music Performance has been designed to provide students with the skills, knowledge and understanding necessary to access and ultimately progress to degree level study and employment in the performing arts sectors. It provides an opportunity for those who have interest in music to explore, develop and test their creativity within a qualification structure, which is stimulating and demanding and provides a supportive transition from general to more specialised study. This course is delivered over one year and will enable learners to develop a portfolio of work that could support progression into a range of higher education courses. Most learners will progress to the UAL level 3 Extended Diploma in music performance. At the City of Liverpool College, we provide a multi-faceted, holistic approach to Degree level study or employment in the music industry. You will be trained as an accomplished performer, developing your musicality and repertoire through a wide range of disciplines including practical harmony applications, aural perception skills, improving instrumental performance, music theory and harmony and professional portfolio development.

This course leads to...
On completing the UAL L3 Subsidiary Diploma in Music Performance, the learner can progress to the second year of the programme - UAL L3 Extended Diploma in Music Performance and employment within the sector.

Entry Requirements
Level 2 Diploma in Music Performance – at least a Merit or above is required, 5 GCSE’s at grade ‘C’ or above – preferably with 1 GCSE in Music or equivalent/industry experience.
