Music, Theatre & Production Skills — Level 1 (October Start)

Course information

This course is the perfect first step towards a career in any of the Creative Industries of Music, Theatre, Performing Arts and Media Broadcast. If you have dreamt of working backstage at music gigs, in a theatre, behind a camera in a TV studio or even fancied yourself as a performer on stage, then this course is for you.

This newly developed course is Liverpool’s only fully integrated Creative Industries program of study. Starting in October, the course is specifically designed for 16 to 18 year olds who want to develop practical and theatrical skills across Music, Performing Arts, Theatre and Broadcast Media.

Led by a team of Musicians, Theatre Technicians and Media Professionals, this program aims to introduce you to the fast-paced environment of live events in the Creative Industry sector. You will learn the business of the Creative Industries and have the option to select a specific sector to work within (options are Music, Performing Arts or Media Broadcast). By the end of the course, you will understand the different jobs roles in the sector, how to apply for work and how to plan and execute live events in a wide range of settings and sectors. The study program will also allow you to develop your English and Maths skills throughout taught sessions in these subjects.

Successful completion of the course will give you the opportunity to progress onto a related higher education course in Music Performance, Music Technology, Acting, Dance, Production Arts or Media.
