The Catering and Hospitality sector is without doubt one of the fastest growing industries in the UK with a vast amount of employment opportunities.
The need for skilled chef’s increases annually and having a Level 3 Professional Chefs Diploma will be the benchmark for most employers. Such qualified chefs are expected to perform at the highest level consistently in an often busy and challenging kitchen environment.
The ability to work at this level requires, commitment, dedication and a passion to produce dish items to a high standard. This requires, enthusiasm, high energy, methodical working and organisational skills and the ability to take responsibility when needed.

Career opportunities for Advanced Professional Chefs is unlimited, whether it be in Hotel and Restaurants, Contract Catering, Welfare Catering, Event Catering to name a few. A demanding, yet rewarding career that has endless travel opportunities both within the UK and internationally.
Minimum entry requirements are GCSE grades F-G or above in English and Maths, or achievement of Entry 3 in the College online initial assessment tests in English and Maths. It is desirable to have a reasonable level of ICT. This course is suitable for 16-18 students and mature learners. You will also be subject to interview. At interview we expect you to be enthusiastic and passionate about food. Please bring any GCSE results or predicted grades, plus any other qualifications you might have gained.

Work experience will also be a fundamental part of your course as 80 hours will be planned into your programme, this will give you a real insight into the industry and will further develop your employability skills.
