Refrigeration Systems Installing and Maintaining — Level 2 NVQ Diploma

Course information

This course is for employed students who will be able to achieve the NVQ Diploma. Success in three externally set and externally marked CGLI examinations is necessary for Technical Certificate.
Two site visits will be made to your place of work for assessment towards the competency units.
The course covers all aspects of commercial refrigeration and air conditioning. Starting from basics, the course provides all the necessary theory as well as practical work in refrigeration and refrigeration electrics workshop classes. Success on the course depends on students gaining practical skills and being able to carry them out to industry acceptable standards. Health & safety customer and working relations are also covered. Students will undertake a City & Guilds F Gas qualification.
Students amy choose to do one or both of the qualifications available.

This course leads to...

The course leads to Level 3 Diploma. Courses available in commercial refrigeration or industrial refrigeration and air conditioning.

Entry Requirements

You must be employed in the industry. There are no formal entry requirements, although students will be given an initial assessment and interview. All students are required to wear appropriate protective equipment in the workshops, including safety boots and overalls. Students may be able to purchase these through the college at a reduced cost.
